The Initial Evaluation

If you've never done Pilates before, this is the place to start.  Your Initial Evaluation may be done as a private or duet.   Allow an hour and fifteen minutes for a private and an hour and a half for a duet.  Come 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment  to allow yourself time to fill out paperwork.  During your initial evaluation, we will discuss any injuries, chronic concerns, as well as your fitness goals.  You will also learn about the history of Joe Pilates and his method.  Then, you will begin building your foundation for a successful understanding of your body and the Pilates method as well as explore correct movement skills with particular emphasis on synthesizing breath control, abdominal support, and pelvic/spinal alignment.  Unless you have a significant amount of Pilates experience from another studio, the Initial Evaluation is required, before taking a group class, for your benefit and safety as well as for the consideration of other class members.

Unless you plan on doing private instructor exclusively, you should look at the group class schedule first and see what class / instructor will fit your schedule best, one your are done with your initial evaluation, introductory 4 or quick start.  Once you know which instructor/class is going to best fit your schedule, then when you call to schedule your initial evaluation, that is the instructor that you should be scheduled with.

Private Instruction

This is the way to focus on your individual unique needs, injuries or chronic concerns.  Use as an initial evaluation as well as periodic tune-ups or opportunities to further your personal fitness goals.  Here, you will begin building your foundation for a successful understanding of your body and the Pilates method as well as explore explore correct movement skills with particular emphasis on synthesizing breath control, abdominal support, and pelvic/spinal alignment.

Duets

Classes

Reformer / Pole / Mat   - Joe Pilates created all the equipment to act as additional muscles to aid the body on it's path to health - the Reformer accesses the weak or illusive areas of your body to uniformly build alignment, muscular balance and aerobic movement.  The Pole System allows you to enjoy all the benefits of the Trapeze Table's roll-down bar,  push-though bar and the leg springs.  Combine the benefit from the support of spring tension with your mat class workout to better develop resilient, powerful muscles; strong, smooth decompressed joints and potent core strength. Group Classes are not recommended for individuals with injuries or that are experiencing pain.  Limited to 5 participants.

Mat Class - the essence of all Pilates work, an aerobic series of group floorwork exercises designed to create uniform development; long lean muscles; core strength and breath control.  Mat Classes are not recommended for individuals with injuries or that are experiencing pain.  Limited to 6 participants.
